I think we can all agree that this attempt at a feasible Monet could end in disaster.

All for the sake of a trademark Cher Horowitz starring Silverstone, who has reportedly signed on to reprise her role for a Clueless sequel series on Peacock.
Variety reports that the streamer is in the early stages of developing the new series and plot specifics are being kept under wraps. At this moment, Silverstone’s casting, the continuation premise of the 1995 film, and the creative team are the only information available. Also, we know this latest attempt at a Clueless spinoff is not the same one that was planned by Peacock in 2020.

Gossip Girl’s original co-creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will join Jordan Weiss in writing the series. They plan to executive produce the show with the original writer-director of Clueless, Amy Heckerling, and the film’s producer Robert Lawrence. CBS Studios and Universal Television are also on board as network and studio.
This is certainly not the first small screen reworking of the 1995 comedy. Ensuing its success with movie lovers, a television version of the film aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999 with Rachel Blanchard — as an alternative of Silverstone — in the lead.
Silverstone freshly repeated her Clueless role in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten — so it’s appeared that she’s been keen to get back into Cher’s closet. We don’t blame her one moment.
